Welcome to all students commencing study at La Trobe Bendigo in 2010! Christian Union is holding events throughout this week and we’re keen to meet students, new and returning, at any of the following:
Tuesday:
CU Stall & BBQ at the Clubs’ Day from 11am to 2pm.
African Drumming Workshop and free baked potato dinner @ The Ironbark Centre from 6pm to 8pm (CUers will be there with their T-shirts on).
Wednesday:
CU Stall & Info Desk at the Student Union from 11am onwards.
You’ll likely find us at these events too:
80’s Disco Trivia from 8pm to 11pm.
Movie under the stars from 9pm to 11pm.
Thursday:
CU Stall & Info Desk at the Student Union from 11am onwards.
Look out for us at the BSA Free Lunch, 12 till 1pm.
That night, meet CU @ The Junk Food Crawl: Starting 7pm at Hungry Jacks. If you need a lift, just contact us.
Saturday:
CU is BBQing @ Lake Weeroona
If you need transport, cars leave the SU building out the front at 5.30pm. It’d be handy if you could let us know you need a lift before then.
Feel free to join us for prayer in the SU from 9am on Tuesday to Thursday too.

Something for everyone this week at CU. On Monday 1st June there’s Blokes Doing Stuff and a Girls Night Out. On Wednesday 3rd June, come along to dinner, meet other students on campus, find out about CU and find out the solution to the financial crisis.
Iron Man Challenge: Have you got what it takes? Monday 1st June, from 5.30pm at Crook Street Park.
Girls’ Night Out: The Amazing Race. With coffee & cake, a short talk, photos and friendship. Monday 1st June, from 7pm meeting at the La Trobe Bendigo Student Union building.

Before the bunnies and the eggs was the Lamb! This Wednesday, 8th April, come to the SU Building for a Passover-style lamb dinner. Starting at 6.30pm and followed by an Easter address. All welcome (even vegetarians!).
What a great way to kick off the year! Bendigo students will be meeting with others from regional Victoria to explore what the Bible says about Holiness. 3-5 April: Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

We will have a contact table with club information as well as a BBQ, icy-poles and drinks. Try your hand(s) at a game of Giant Jenga. This is a great opportunity to meet other first years, returning students and find out more about CU. |
| Wednesday 25th: | 11am till 2pm: We will be running contact tables with free ice-cold drinks and icy-poles at the Student Union building and around the campus – another opportunity to meet us and find out about CU. |
| Thursday 26th: | 11am till 2pm: You’ll see us around campus again and that evening…
6pm: We invite you to join us for a Junk Food Crawl, starting at Hungry Jacks (transport available). After progressing through Red Rooster, KFC and McDonalds, we will retire to Rosalind Park for games (some may need the exercise by this point!), a short welcome from our staff worker and a guest speaker. |

Each year, the AFES National Training Event sees students from all over Australia meeting together to study God’s word and learn to put it into practice. This year, NTE goes international. We have the privilege of hosting the South Pacific Regional Training Event for Fiji, Vanuatu, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
The theme is Cross + Culture: it is the cross of Christ that is the centre of God’s plan. And it is the cross that both transforms and crosses our cultures.
SPRTE has two parts:
Conference: 29 November – 3 December 2008, ANU, Canberra.
Mission: 3 – 7 December 2008, the Bendigo team is going to Frankston!
We will learn from God’s word together in our main meetings, study the word closely in smaller Strand groups, and be challenged to sharpen our ministry skills in workshops. SPRTE is capped off by a short mission with partner churches, where we will put everything we’ve learned into practice.
Join students from all over the South Pacific to be enriched as we study the cross of Christ! If you are interested in coming, please talk to Di or contact us to receive a special discount on registration.
